
CONTEXT – an IT market research Company, has recently released the figures stating that shipments of 3D printers have risen +25% on a global basis. These figures have been achieved in the first three-quarters of 2016 due to shipments of less priced desktop 3D printers.
Out of 217,073 3D printers shipped year-to-date (YTD), 96% of these 3D printers were personal or desktop 3D printers having an average price of $1,000. This shows 27% of growth in this sector as compared to the shipment sector that had a decline of -12% YTD. Only 7,726 units have been shipped through the first three-quarters of 2016.
